Neeti Nanda knew what she was looking for in a business school. She sought the skill sets to transition from a technical role in industrial engineering to a business strategy role in consulting. She wanted a school that would help her build a network of relationships for her career.
She found it all at Owen. She gained a solid foundation in core management skills, she says, while honing her leadership style. In Owen's small, close-knit community, she made lasting friendships among her fellow students and strong connections with alumni. In fact, she says of her position at Deloitte, "the biggest supporters are Owen alumni who champion my growth within the firm and provide another avenue for me to learn from."
But perhaps the biggest "takeaway" from the school, Neeti says, was one she wasn't especially seeking when she arrived at Owen. In the summer of 2008, she and classmate Sharran Srivatsaa (Vanderbilt MBA 2008) were married. "Not only did I land my dream job," she says, "but I met my husband here."
