Iacobucci Brings Unique Expertise to Owen Classroom

How can businesses use social networks to gain a competitive advantage? Talk with Dawn Iacobucci, one of the country's leading experts in the new marketing channels created by social networks.

Iacobucci was on the faculty at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and Kellogg School (Northwestern) before coming to Vanderbilt. She's also edited the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Consumer Psychology.

Though she is also a renowned expert on customer satisfaction and service marketing, social networks—particularly "geeky network models"—have become a special research interest. Most companies, she says, don't understand these new marketing channels very well. But they're also starting to realize "that not being in these online spaces is not an option."

With a master's in theological studies to complement her degrees in quantitative psychology and statistics, Iacobucci offers a unique perspective. "I teach MBA students solutions to problems," she says. "But more importantly, I teach them how to think about the problem."
Since 1969, Vanderbilt Business has been building a new kind of business leader. The kind who aren't afraid to challenge old ways of thinking. Who don't think they've heard it all before (or pretend they will ever know it all). The persistent kind. People who are ready to work harder and dig deeper, and who put ideas over ego and performance over pedigree.

We attract the kind who are looking not only to succeed in the business world but to shape it for the better. While also shaping their skills, their careers and their futures. All while shaping our own community in ways that make a lasting difference for themselves and others.

You'll find stories here of Vanderbilt Businesspeople, people much like you, who have done all these and more.

We invite you to become a World Shaper yourself. Or to recruit one. And, most of all, to read how Vanderbilt Business has become such a richly shaping experience for so many. Close
